I once had a journal reviewer critize a short story of mine. He tore my writing to pieces. I was crushed and thought of never writing again. Later, another journal accepted the same story and loved it. Then it was accepted by an even better journal as a previously published story. I'm still writing.

So well stated. I think that we often wrap ourselves up, our own senses of being up in what we produce. And, it's so important to be able to pull yourself back. Hard, but important!
